Really cool for kids and kids at heart, July 24, 2018

By Danny –

This review is from: Treasure X Adventure Pack (Toy)

I’m a sucker for adventure themed things and I was looking for something my son and I could do when he got out of school. I found one of these somewhere in a mall and thought it looked interesting and boy was I right. The idea is that you’re a treasure hunter, you’re provided with a map and a decoder, which you use on the map to line up symbols and indicate what treasure you’re looking for. It’s not necessary but a fun part of the “treasure hunting” experience if you have your kid find it on the map. With the tools you’re provided, you dig through a block of sandy clay and find the remains of another adventurer, which I assume failed to recover the treasure and you are succeeding where they did not. Or, maybe they’re guarding the treasure and you have to defeat them. Whatever you want! Personally I plan to buy more and play ducktales with my kid.It took a moment but I figured out that there 8 themes for the treasure hunter and 3 of each which correspond to the 8 golden treasures, the treasure you find in the map hints at the kind of treasure hunter you will get. There are 24 other treasures to collect, too, like a glow in the dark mummy hand, haunted lantern or magic potion to name a few. We got the forbidden fish bones.I’ll surely be buying more of these, but a word of caution, I recommend digging on a plate placed on a table top. It’s gonna get messy.

Son is obsessed, September 22, 2018

Call me crazy but we have about 20 of these but the disappointing part is most of half are duplicates. There’s 24 in total to collect and my 5 year old son is obsessed with collecting them all but we end up with duplicates which means a waste of $10. Also, there’s a chance you will find ‘gold’ in the treasure box. Out of the 20 we have, we’ve gotten 2 pieces of dipped gold, the gold bar and the gold gontlet. There needs to be more characters to make this worth it.Warning! It makes a huge mess. Luckily it’s summer and this can be done outside with the help of the hose. It definitely keeps him entertained for 10 mins but I end up cleaning up the mess 😐

Be Prepared For A Messy Excavation, August 19, 2018

Gives kids time to excavate and discover skeleton parts adding to some sort of realization to excavating. Not all the treasure chests will foam up as advertised; however, they are delighted when they find the mystery treasure.
