Easy to install but might need a bit of a tweak on the igniter wire., June 4, 2018

Very good fit on my Magic Chef model 3468XVA gas range I bought two to replace the front burners. Four Stars because I needed to use a pair of needle nose pliers to bend the igniter wire slightly into position. The igniter wire is visible in the item description pictures as an L shaped wire pointing down from the side of the burner and surrounded with a white ceramic insulator. On one of the two burner assemblies the wire did not come straight out from the side but was angled up slightly. This caused the spark to jump the shortest distance to the top of the burner rather than the bottom where the gas comes out. The burner would not light until I bent the wire down about 1/8 of an inch so that the end pointing down was closer to the burner. After that little tweak the spark strikes the bottom of the burner and lights without issue. Just be very careful bending the wire so as to not crack the ceramic insulator. The OEM burners were installed with a red rubber gasket which has long since dried out and become brittle. The new burners do not come with a gasket and are installed without a gasket. I was concerned with water leaking under the burner when cleaning because of a lack of a gasket. So I poured 14 oz of water into the burner tray and sponged it dry to simulate a good cleaning or spill. No water leaked out as the opening the burner fits into has a raise lip that sticks up about 3/16 of an inch. That lip forms a dam and prevent the water from leaking into the inner workings of the stove The new burners do twist a bit more to lock into position clockwise and places the igniter at the 1 O’clock position vs the original 12 O’clock position. This slightly different position doesn’t effect operation of the burner of igniter.

So after purchasing on eBay from two different sellers the same product and having to return it because the fit was very loose, I was very pleased with this item because it fit like a glove. I had a Magic Chef oven model CGR 3740 ADH. Previous part number for this item used to be WP 3412 D018 – 09. The new part number upgrade from the actual manufacturer is WP 3412 D024-09. So this product fit exactly the same way the original fit the only difference is that the inner part of the item is a bit shorter to make up for the gasket that is no longer necessary but fits and screws in the way it’s supposed to versus the other ones that I have purchased on eBay were a lot of wiggle room and did not lock into place so this one worked out really good for our oven with this model number, hope this helps.

It is what it is. Works as expected. My old burners had pretty much rusted apart and were giving a very uneven flame. This is definitely an improvement. Some people apparently have a type that locks in with a twist or something and were complaining that these burners don’t do that. On my stove they just sit in the holes with no locking feature.I knew it did not come with a rubber gasket, but it would be nice if it did. When sitting on the metal surface of the stove the spark igniter sends an electrical shock through the entire stovetop. I have to be careful not to be touching anything metal that’s in contact with the stove (like a metal handled pan) when turning on a burner. This was already a problem as my old gaskets are falling apart. Has nothing to do with these burners. I’ll be searching for gaskets…
